Susquehanna Automotive has partnered with a local, certified electrician to provide you with the proper electric installation of a Level 2 charger at your home. Why do you need to upgrade your electric at home? Most people who drive an electric vehicle prefer to charge the vehicle while they are at home. A Level 1 charging station has 120-volt plug and can be connected to your standard household outlet. It can provide a decent charge, but will likely take significantly longer than 24 hours for a full electric vehicle. A Level 2 charging station has a 240-volt plug, and can provide the same charge in as little as 5 hours! However, it requires a special outlet, or must be connected directly to the electrical panel. This requires a certified electrician. Understanding the need, we here at Susquehanna Ford have partnered with Palmatier Electric, a local and certified electrician, who has specialized in this service for years. STANDARD INSTALLATION PACKAGE
If the vehicle comes with a Level 2 charger, or if you wish to supply a charger, this option will include installation of either an appropriate NEMA 14-50 receptacle or will be hardwired to the customer-supplied EV charger.

GRIZZL-E SMART CONNECT
Level 2 Grizzl-E Smart Connect Charger offers up to 40 amps to further increase your charging speed at home and provide you with greater control. This solution provides great charging experience for an all-electric vehicle. The charger is Wi-Fi capable, which allows you to monitor and manage the charging remotely and provide seamless future software updates to the charger. Installation of wiring and 240-volt NEMA 14-50 receptacle (same as an electric clothes dryer) start-up, and user training.

Level 2 Grizzl-E Mini Portable Charger offers up to 40 amps to increase your charging speed at home and allows you mobility to take your charger on the road. This solution provides a great charging experience for a plug-in hybrid and a flexible charging experience for an all-electric vehicle that does not fully deplete the battery every day (will provide about 2/3 charge in 8 hours). Includes carrying case, wall bracket, 20ft cable, 120-volt connector, and a 240-volt connector. Installation of wiring and 240-volt NEMA 14-50 receptacle (same as an electric clothes dryer) start-up, and user training.

Level 2 Grizzle-E Duo Charger gives you the ability to charge TWO electric vehicles at the same time without the need of having two separate chargers installed by an electrician. This Duo charger is a cost effective way to charge two vehicles. This is a perfect cost savings option for anyone who has, or plans to have, two EV’s or PHEV’s in the same household. The intelligent power-sharing charger can direct all the power to one vehicle or share the power between the two. Installation of wiring and 240-volt NEMA 14-50 receptacle (same as an electric clothes dryer) start-up, and user training.

What is Needed for an EV Level 2 Home Charger Installation?
We want your EV home charger installation to go as smoothly as possible, so below is some key info to read through. For the services we offer with our local partner the installation must be of an approved receptacle or hardwired EV charging station on a 240-volt, 60-amp circuit. Should the charger accommodate greater than 60-amp circuit, additional costs will be incurred. The charging station must be mounted inside an attached garage. It is also important to make sure your electrical setup is sufficient for a home charger. The home’s main electrical panel must be at least 200 amps, have two usable spaces, and must be located in the garage or in the basement. If the electrical panel is located in the basement, the basement ceiling must be accessible (open or drop ceiling) to facilitate running a wire from the panel to the garage. The total distance from the panel to the charging station must not exceed 40 feet. Distances over 40 feet will be billed at $10 per linear foot ($15 per linear foot for >60amp circuit).
